A HUGE thanks to everyone who helped make our Christmas Micro-festival a success on Friday.
We set ourselves the rather ambitious task of having a small festival for our final tasting and organising it in 6 weeks.
With a distillery presence (Cooper King), whisky club (SMWS), independent bottler/whisky entrepreneur (HOAM) and whisky subscription (The Whisky Nest) we had the variety of a larger festival – a huge thanks to all our exhibitors for being part of us trailblazing a new format:
- Thanks to Abbie, Chris and Sophie for the latest Cooper King Maturing Malt (29 Months);
- Thanks to Les for presenting 6x bottles of SMWS finest, and Andrew for donating the York Whisky Santa mega-prize of a bottle of ‘Sweet Shop in a Dunnage Warehouse (won by Dee);
- Thanks to Hemil for presenting the great drams series;
- And to Ben from the Whisky Nest for an interesting hand-picked selection of drams.
We were also blown away by the generosity of Deanston, Field and Fawcett, Master of Malt, McMillans of Malton, and Spirit of Yorkshire for all donating bottles to our tasting table.
A special mention to Morgan Spirit of Yorkshire for a bottle rendez-vous on the way to the festival setup, allowing the total drams to try at the festival to hit the mid 40’s!
A shout our to our wives Georgia and Josie for supporting our event and helping setup and run the night.
Finally, thanks to everyone who attended – it was fantastic to see people trying lots of whisky, winning Whisky Santa prizes and chatting all things whisky.
What a way to celebrate the end of the first year of York Whisky Club!✨ 🥃
