No tastings currently scheduled

Blind Tasting (Sat 7th Feb, 7:30pm – 9:30pm, York Medical Society)

Much as the exercise regime you committed to in dry January, this tasting requires faith: but in this case, the slightly easier faith that you will taste 6 amazing whiskies without knowing a theme or a connection in advance.

Will we open your eyes to new whisky wonders? Buy a ticket to believe…

TICKETS: Going to mailing list 18th Jan, on here 21st Jan

International Women’s Day (Sat 7th March, 7:30pm – 9:30pm, TBC)

Celebrating the amazing women who love and produce whisky, including some guest presenters who don’t have beards and aren’t called Jasper or Jim.

TICKETS: RELEASED IN FEBRUARY

Whisky & Sherry III (2x dates: Leeds – 16th Apr, York – 17th Apr)

We’ve had some great foodie delights in our paired tastings Whisky & Sherry I and Whisky & Sherry II, and thought it was mean not to let more people sample amazing paired whiskies, sherries and tapas, so we’re hitting the road to Ambiente Tapas Leeds as well as serving up some delights in Tabanco by Ambiente in York.

TICKETS: RELEASED IN MARCH

Springbank Tasting (Fri 8th May, 7:30pm – 9:30pm,TBC)

Your regular York Whisky Club hosts have waxed lyrical about many a Springbank release so it was 100% time to persuade them to pay a visit to York.

TICKETS: RELEASED IN APRIL

Summer Festival (Sat 27th June, 1pm – 5pm,TBC)

Attendees have LOVED our summer (micro) festivals in 2023, 2024, 2025 so as we enter our 5th year, we definitely wanted to get this on the calendar. Expect some fantastic exhibitors, a hand-curated tasting table of excess and some fun ways to raise money for our nominated charity, St Leonard’s Hospice.

TICKETS: EARLYBIRD RELEASED IN MARCH

Summer Social (Sat 11th July, 7:30pm – 9:30pm,TBC)

Normally we pack away the tasting glasses after the summer festival, but after requests in the club WhatsApp for a ‘bring a bottle’ tasting, we’re scheduling a tasting for attendees to bring a (sealed) bottle that they know will surprise and delight fellow club members.

TICKETS: SMALL CONTRIBUTION LIKELY FOR VENUE + CHARITY

No tastings scheduled – Summer Break

Whisky Indy Love (Sat 19th Sept, AFTERNOON, Newcastle)

We love to support our local festivals and after the independent bottler delights of last year, we are going to arrange another club outing to Newcastle to the Whisky Indy Love. If you’re wondering what that’s about, we interviewed founder Karl in 2024.

Love Whisky? Love Cheese? (York Food Festival) (Sat 26th Sept, TBC)

Our collaboration tastings always go down a treat, and for this year’s food festival, we’re teaming up again with Jordan and the team from Love Cheese of Gillygate.

Mystery Drops (Sat 10th Oct, 7:30pm – 9:30pm,TBC)

Usually your York Whisky Club hosts collaborate closely on each tasting, but what if we didn’t?

Following the success of The Traitors on BBC1, clearly secrecy and intrigue can be fun too, so three ‘Jasper’s mystery drops’ will meet three ‘Jim’s mystery drops’ for this 6 dram host battle. As well as usual voting for dram of the night, you will be asked to choose whose drops you prefer – and remember to the other, you will always be THE TRAITOR!

The Whisky Lounge York Whisky Festival (Sat 21st Nov, 2x sessions, York Guildhall)

Our micro-tasting concept was great fun in 2025, so it’ll be back for 2026.

Expect some great drams and FOMO that brings you back when the timer pings!

Dream Drams IV (Sat 5th December, 7pm – 9:30pm,TBC)

Our charity tasting ticket will be back!

Q1: Will Cooper King retain the Dream Drams crown for a third year running?

Q2: Will we raise more money for St Leonard’s Hospice than the £6.3k raised from Dream Drams II to Dream Drams III?

We shall find out! This year we’re going on a SUPER effort to present more ‘unobtainium’ than ever before.
